Stress
Management:
Developing Balance and Integration
Life is full of stress
for everyone, and it can be dealt
with in ways, which increase quality of life rather than diminish it.
Health
results from attention to all aspects of a person’s life:
psychological,
physical and spiritual self- care.
Often
people do not
realize that their habits, developed
over time, are creating problems. Or even if they are aware that habits
are
creating problems, they might feel that their habits cannot be changed.
They
feel stuck with patterns of behavior, which are draining and
unproductive. I
have found that many situations can be
alleviated, with changes in diet, exercise, use of positive thoughts,
healthier
relationships, and, self-observtion practices.
But,
you wonder, how
can these changes occur, when it seems so difficult?
I
help people to become
aware of how the different aspects
of functioning, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, affect each
other.
Through self – observation practices, such as writing,
meditation, breath work
and present-moment awareness, you can learn about the relationship of
your
emotions, with the habitual behaviors, which make you feel stuck. For
example,
what kinds of mood changes occur when you don’t eat healthy
meals, or get
enough rest, exercise, or if you don’t talk about your
emotions? How do
habits linked with anxiety and depression, further reinforce these
depleting
cycles of emotion? How do you moods affect your relationships?
All
of the emotional
challenges facing you, can be either
helped or hindered by the state of your physical health, and the
decisions you
make about sleep, diet, exercise, and mental attitude which you
cultivate. The
more you learn, from your own observation, about your patterns and
habits, and
how those habits affect you, the more control you can exert over
unproductive
ways of living.
Developing
awareness of
your-self, as a whole being,
cultivates motivation, balance, and confidence, from within. I work
with you,
to help you develop you own motivation. You will have more positive
energy for
those around you, your work, and your own inner life. Areas of your
creativity
can be developed, and life can be lived with greater satisfaction,
ease, and
contentment.
